PCB design and prototypes, from schematic to a board that works

I design the electronics for early-stage hardware products and stay with them through bring-up, so the person who drew the schematic is the person debugging the first board. Most of my career has been in aerospace and defense electronics, where a respin costs months, so I design to get the first prototype right.

What I do

Requirements and architecture

Your product idea turned into requirements, a power tree, an interface and pin-mux plan, and a parts list that holds up against lead times and second sources.

Schematic capture and review

Clean, documented schematics, checked with AI-assisted design review and signed off by me before layout starts.

PCB layout

Multi-layer boards, including high-speed LVDS, MIPI and SERDES routing, with the stackup and constraints written down.

Firmware

Embedded C firmware for microcontrollers, enough to prove the hardware and hand a working base to your software team.

Bring-up and test

Power-on, debug and test, with a written record of what changed, so the next spin is a short list instead of a surprise.

Manufacturing handoff

Fabrication and assembly packages, plus a clear list of what production still needs.

How it starts

  1. 1

    A 20-minute call

You tell me what you're building and where you're stuck. No cost.

  2. 2

    A small, fixed-scope start

One defined problem at a fixed fee, so you can judge the work before committing to more.

  3. 3

    Build, with clear gates

Larger work runs in phases. You see progress at every gate and decide whether to continue.

Have a board already? Start with a $4,500 design risk snapshot. Starting from an idea? Start with a fixed-fee architecture and feasibility phase.

Questions founders ask

Can you work with our existing design files?
Yes. I can review, fix or take over an existing schematic and layout. We agree the design tools at the start so your team can keep working in them.
Do you design for production?
My work is prototype-grade. I take a design to a manufacturing handoff and list what production needs, and your team or contract manufacturer owns production release and certification.
How do you price a board?
In fixed-fee phases, quoted after a 20-minute call once I understand the scope. Each phase ends at a gate where you decide whether to continue.
